About the whole story

The novel mainly tells the love story between Elizabeth Bennett, who was born in a squire family, and a wealthy Mr. Darcy.

The heroine is 20-year-old Elizabeth Bennett, she is witty, intelligent, and kind. The leading man, Mr. Darcy, is a gentleman with an annual income of 10,000 pounds. They met at the ball, and the arrogant Mr. Darcy made Elizabeth's first impression of him not good. But Mr. Darcy was attracted by the bright and beautiful Elizabeth.

Although Mr. Darcy's admiration for Elizabeth is getting deeper, he is very contradictory because Elizabeth's family is not rich. Worried about the worldly gaze, Mr. Darcy hid his love. And his ambivalence led to more arrogance, which deepened Elizabeth's prejudice against him.

Later, because Mr. Darcy saved Elizabeth's family from the crisis, he also wrote a letter to explain the misunderstanding to her, which made Elizabeth appreciate this gentleman more and more.

At this time, Mrs. Darcy's aunt, Lady Catherine, who was also a wealthy person, she asked Elizabeth not to agree to Mr. Darcy's proposal, because she wanted Darcy to marry her daughter. Elizabeth's refusal made Darcy know that she loves him. The two decided to open up their hearts and express their love.
